If you have concerns about how your child communicates, understands language, or is understood by others, an evaluation may be helpful. If you’re unsure, you can schedule a complimentary consultation with one of our speech-language pathologists.

A consultation is a brief phone conversation with an SLP to discuss clinical questions and whether an evaluation may be appropriate.
An evaluation is a full appointment to assess your child’s communication skills and determine whether therapy is recommended.
Your SLP will use a combination of observation, caregiver input, play-based or informal assessment, and standardized testing when appropriate. We’ll discuss the results and recommendations with you afterward.
Usually, yes. School-based and outpatient therapy often serve different purposes, and we are happy to collaborate with other providers with your permission. Some insurance plans may limit coverage when a child receives the same service from multiple outpatient providers.
Every child is different. We regularly monitor progress and adjust goals, frequency, or discharge recommendations as your child’s needs change.
